Ride-sharing service wants to deliver Chicken Nuggets to your special someone this Valentine’s Day, and so ruin your chances at love

There are a few solid gift ideas for your special someone on Valentine’s Day. McNuggets is not one of them.

Flowers are a solid bet. Chocolates, too. So are watches and jewellery. And if you want to push the boat out, you could even listen to our favourite Victoria’s Secret Angel and pick up some lingerie.

But what is certainly not a good way to impress the woman/man in your life, is to redeem Uber’s new McNugget-based marketing campaign.

Granted, the Esquire team is hardly made up of Lotharios, but a quick scientific poll around the women in the office has proven unequivocally that chicken McNuggets from McDonald’s is not the best way to show that special someone that you care.

“But hey, they are free,” we hear you say (to no one in particular because you live alone with your twelve cats as relationships with humans is a challenge for you).

Yes, while pulling out your phone between the hours of 11 am, and 3 pm (while nugget stocks last) and requesting an ‘UberLOVIN’ via the app might potentially net your life partner six deep-fried mechanically-separated chicken blobs, it’s probably not worth the shame.

Our suggestion? Order yourself some chicken nuggets instead of buying lunch, and put that money into a nice Hallmark card, or a stuffed teddy bear holding a heart. Because the classics never go out of style, unlike McNuggets (which were never in style in the first place).
