You’re probably thinking, “wait, Bell & Ross do dive watches?” The answer is yes. And they make rather good ones, too.
The calling card of a Bell & Ross timepiece is its strong, masculine, square case. Mostly associated with its Aviation collection, the 2017 release of the BR03-92 Diver marked the first time a square case was used for one of its dive watches.
The Paris-based, Swiss-made watch company has been making professional watches for its Marine line since 1997 when it introduced the game-changing Hydromax. B&R decided to fill the watchcase entirely with oil, making it capable of resisting a depth of 11,000 metres.
The BR 03-92 Diver was released in 2017 when the brand decided it was high time the Dive line should get the square case treatment. And due to the intense pressure that builds up down deep, the BR 03-92 certainly meets all international diving standards; it’s water resistant to 300-metres, comes with a unidirectional rotating bezel as well as a 60-minute diving scale.
The crown – which is screwed down to better protect the timepiece at great depths – is equipped with a guard that guarantees complete protection against impacts and optimal water resistance.
The black dial boasts large indices as well as number and hands coated in white Superluminova, to further its legibility at depths.
To withstand water pressure the watch’s automatic Swiss movement is protected by a reinforced thick steel back case, and a soft iron cage to increase its resistance to magnetic fields.
So, do Bell & Ross make dive watches? You bet they do.
