Just in case you thought the current Soundstorm 2023 lineup wasn’t loud, or awesome, enough, prepare to have your face and eardrums completely melted as (arguably) the greatest metal band of all time, Metallica, takes the stage at MDLBEAST Soundstorm on December 14 to 16, 2023.
Welcoming more than 200 artists to its eight different stages, Saudi Arabia’s 2023 Soundstorm festival lineup also includes Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Black Eyed Peas, and many more. But we can’t help but think it will be hard to compete with the aggressive distortion of one of the most notorious bands of all time, and we can only imagine what those electric guitars sound like thundering across the desert sands.
This last April, Metallica released their first album since 2016, 72 Seasons, a sobering return to form which, according to Rolling Stone , “delivers some of the deepest, hard-hitting music of their career.”
The summer of 2022 introduced the hard hitting metal band to a whole new generation with the help of Stranger Things‘s Eddie Munson waging war against a fleet of demonic bats in the Upside Down. Not sure any modern setting was more fitting for the most hardcore metal song of all time than that scene. Watch the unbelievably badass clip below.
