  • The new collection channels the 1970s, along with the brand’s token rock ‘n’ roll style
  • Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello has made the annual show an unmissable event
  • Celebrities in the crowds included Liam Hemsworth and Keanu Reeves

Last week saw Saint Laurent showcase its spring/summer collection on a beach in Malibu, with a gaggle of celebrities including Liam Hemsworth, Hailey Baldwin and Keanu Reeves.

The show itself has a mixture of inspirations from creative director Anthony Vaccarello that embraces classic 1970s tailoring.

The beachside location was an important part of the show (last-year’s catwalk was held at the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, complete with palm-trees and faux sand) meant to envisage that of a visual paradise.

Vaccarello sought inspiration from the 1970s when developing the new collection, albeit one with an updated silhouette. The theme was channeled via sparkly details, seen on jackets, pants, suits and asymmetric tops.

As per the brand’s usual style, everything was steeped in Saint Laurent’s token rock ‘n’ roll style.

The Saint Laurent show has quickly become an unmissable event in the fashion world. There were no shortage of international stars, including Liam Hemsworth, Hailey Baldwin, Nicole Richie and Keanue Reeves. Elsewhere, Laura Dern, Miley Cyrus, Amber Heard were also sat alongside fashion editors.
