There was a time when Khal Drogo aka Jason Momoa was too broke to fly home. The throwback picture posted by the 39-year-old actor shows just how far the star has come int he last decade having recently played DC’s Aquaman. He posted a throwback pic on his Instagram, sharing the moment after he finished filming Game of Thrones in Ireland.
In his caption, the Hollywood star shares some of the details of what life was like before he made it big. Momoa and his best friend Brian Andrew Mendoza bought a van and went on a road trip looking for the “greatest pint of Guinness.”
Momoa added: “While filming GOT we had a lil break We were to broke to fly home so we rented a panel van aka UHAUL in Belfast and drove around beautiful amazing IRELAND searching for the greatest pint of Guinness. Turns out it’s perfect everywhere. So many wonderful people and stories I treasure those times It was the simplest moments I remember the most. I still miss my family.”
Jason Mamoa who played Khal Drogo in season one of the fantasy saga recently streamed all his feelings – along with plenty of swear words – on Instagram. In the hour-long stream of IG updates – which started positive – Mamoa thanked showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, as well as Emilia Clarke and the rest of the crew.
“I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for David and Dan who made Drogo,” he said. “I was very honoured to be part of the show, and I can’t believe it’s the last episode.”
