Most work comes with an element of stress. But when that stress becomes a legitimate health risk, it should set off a series of red flags. “I used to be so stressed in my corporate job,” says Yann Moujawaz. “Things got so bad that I eventually had to have surgery to have my gall bladder removed. When you literally sacrifice an organ for your job, you know that you need to make a serious change in your life!” So that is exactly what Moujawaz did.
An ambitious man by nature, Moujawaz was not going to sit around idly for too long. All he knew was that, whatever his next step, he wanted to ensure that there was an emphasis on helping people battle stress and anxiety. The answer came from a place very close to home: his mother.
Juana Martini spent her childhood in Syrian in her family’s olive tree fields where she forged a deep connection with earth and nature. “I learnt that in order to enjoy the immense therapeutic benefits of natural ingredients, we must patiently preserve the natural state as much as possible,” she explains. “We wanted to find a completely clean and natural beauty routine that actually works.”
Together they set about building a beauty and wellness brand that would formulate products to balance and de-stress the mind, body, and skin. Something they call ‘Clean Beauty’.
But while Juana gave her son the direction, it was Moujawaz that developed the opportunity: to develop the first-ever CBD-based skin care product that to be legally distributed in the Middle East.
“The calming effect of CBD is well known, and as a skincare ingredient it offers amazing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits,” says Moujawaz who spent the better part of two years researching and visiting laboratories in Europe to test and clinically-trial his product. “It’s almost unsurpassed in terms of its ability to heal the skin and effectively treating common skin concerns like eczema, psoriasis, and dry skin.”
