You don’t have to know anything about automobiles know that Aston Martin make bloody good cars. So, to put Aston Martin’s recent production of its brand-new Racing models into layman’s terms: those “bloody good cars” are about to get even better.
Since the formation of Aston Martin Racing (AMR) in 2004, Aston Martin has enjoyed continual success in the FIA World Endurance Championship, winning the 2016 FIA WEC GT Drivers Championship, whilst also securing multiple victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (its most recent win in the GTE class having been over this past weekend). The AMR is basically really good and really fast, with the Aston Martin Vantage AMR being the first of these AMR models to enter consumer production. Which means you can now own one. Which means “what the hell are you waiting for?!”
Kitted out with 430bhp V8 or 595bhp V12 powertrain options, both engines are also fitted with automated sequential manual paddle-shift transmissions, though the purists out there will be pleased to hear that six and seven-speed manual gearboxes are also an option.
Limited to just 300 cars (100 V12s and 200 V8s) and available in both Coupe and Roadster body styles, the retail price for these bad boys starts from £97,995 in the UK. There’s no need for the fashion conscious to fret either, as the Vantage AMR comes in four striking colour schemes (Stratus White with an Orange graphic; Ultramarine Black with Blue graphic; Zaffre Blue with Red graphic and Scintilla Silver with Grey graphic) to guarantee that there’s an Aston Martin out there to go with every outfit.
As you would expect from such a renowned manufacturer, the Vantage AMR stays true to Aston Martin’s roots of cars that have a distinctive va-va-voom to match their beastly va-va-vroom.
