The Nürburgring is the ultimate benchmark track where top marques come to test their state of the art vehicles. It’s also the dream of petrol heads around the globe to rocket down the amazing bends and light speed straights. The iconic rev-lovers paradise was built around the Eifel mountains back in the 1920s with the addition of the Grand Prix race track 1984.

All that should be considered when hearing the news that the new Porsche 911 GT3 recently took to the Nürburgring recently and beat the previous model by 12.3 seconds with a lap time of 7 minutes and 12.7 seconds, on the legendary Nordschleife.
The new 911 GT3 comes with more pure racing technology than her predecessor, this road legal version combines rear-axle steering, a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), Michelin Sport Cup 2 N1 tyres and shares the same 500 hp (368 kW), high-rev, naturally aspirated engine with the 911 GT3 Cup racing car.
Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Product Line is so proud and excited about the incredible time the new 911 GT3 achieved he says “A few years ago, lap times like this could only ever be achieved by thoroughbred racing cars with slick tyres”.
In case you wanted to know, the quickest time ever recorded on the Nürburgring was by a Radical SR8LM, a mid-engine, rear wheel drive, 449bhp British sports car made by Radical Sportscars.
