Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera
It might be his first restaurant in the gulf, but that didn’t stop Sean Connolly from making the list

British chef Sean Connolly’s first foray into the GCC comes with the added pressure of being based at the showpiece Dubai Opera.
The venue is spacious but spectacular, and Connolly has succeeded in executing his ethos of simple food done exceptionally well (which is much harder than it sounds).
Dishes such as sardines with toast; watermelon and strawberry salad, and the interestingly named Orgy of mushrooms seem familiar, but taste head and shoulders above similar offerings at other restaurants.
