Remember how much you fawned over the Aston Martin Vanquish? Well, you’ll be happy to hear that it has now evolved into the Vanquish S. Available in coupe and volante sizes, the evolution of this beast of a car is designed to pay careful attention to the engine, chassis and aerodynamics – all of which increase performance and, of course, thrills.
The design also sees a substantial change, with the car now looking more sporty and sharper in terms of styling. Let’s start with the thing that powers the car. Inside the new Vanquish S is a 6.0 litre, V12 engine, which churns out 600 PS (basically the same as horse power). The car also feels stronger and sportier due to an upgraded intake system, which allows more air flow into the car, at high revolutions. It gets better. The Vanquish S also contains an upgraded 8-speed touch gearbox, which obviously means faster shifting and increased precision at lower speeds, ensuring a great sense of readiness. The Vanquish S boasts a top speed of 323 kph and can go from 0-100 kph in 3.5 seconds.
As mentioned earlier, the aerodynamics on the new Vanquish S are one of its main selling points. Both the front and rear bumpers reduce the frontal lift on the car, while barely affecting drag. Quad exhausts are also in the mix, giving an aggressive yet controlled look, screaming ‘I can unleash this car at any time, but I only will where I am allowed.’ Everyone loves add-ons and to be honest, if you are going to spend upwards of a million dirhams on a car you might as well go for it. The add-ons include carbon fibre bonnet louvres, 5 spoke diamond turned wheels and a choice of painted graphic packs. In terms of the interior, one can also choose to add things such as quilted leather and a Satin chopped carbon fibre fascia panel.
