Last year, the Pirelli Calendar broke it’s time honored, overtly sexual mold in favour of featuring successful women of different ages and different backgrounds. You probably remember Amy Schumer’s semi-nude shot, or Patti Smith’s gaze, both captured by Annie Leibovitz.
This year, the Pirelli Calendar will again forego risqué, model-esque photographs, instead featuring actresses who seemingly represent the glamour, beauty, and class of Hollywood.
The women in the 2017 calendar—Charlotte Rampling, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman, Lea Seydoux, Alicia Vikander, Kate Winslet, Julianne Moore, Robin Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain, Anastacia Ignatova, Penelope Cruz, Helen Mirren, Zhang Ziyi—are essentially an Oscars red carpet line-up, new faces mixed with legends.
