No matter what he tells you, no man feels confident striding into a woman’s lingerie store to pick out a pair of lace panties for his missus. Sure, he may know what he’s looking for, but the sheer range of options ahead of him are enough to make him break into a self-concious sweat. If you didn’t think that everyone was looking at you when you walked in, well, they sure will be now, fella.
To help men like you and me deal with this issue, we spoke to Chris Karam, General Manager of K-Lynn Lingerie, who gave us some simple, calming, rules of thumb to remember when making your next quest.

You are not alone
Although you may feel like it, remember you’re not the first guy in the shop to turn 50 shades of red buying lingerie, and you certainly won’t be the last. Before going to the shop, make sure you have an idea of her size and the styles she already wears. If you go into a shop with at least some kind of idea of what you want, it makes the whole process simpler.
You don’t matter
Remember that episode of the Simpsons when Homer buys Marge a bowling ball? Yeah, well, that. Remember, you are buying underwear for her, not for you.
Know her style
Observation is key. If you’re buying a lady lingerie then you should have a decent idea of what kind of person she is. If she’s a daring kinda girl, then don’t be afraid to take a few risks – perhaps a babydoll or accessories in colours she would usually wear. If you’re feeling confident enough to take it up a notch, add a garter belt and stockings.
Forget the films
Show her that you’re firmly on-trend and choose pastel colours for nightwear that is both alluring and fun. Remember, you want to choose something that she is going to feel comfortable with, even if it’s not actually for sleeping in.
