Ricky Gervais didn’t hold back at this year’s 2020 Golden Globe awards.
The comedian is known for using his introductory monologue to take shots at the Hollywood elite, and this year was no different.
Among those targetted by the British comedian include Martin Scorsese, Felicity Huffman, the Hollywood Foreign Press, Leonardo DiCaprio, and superhero films. This is the fifth time he has presented the awards.
Some of his jokes fell foul from his audience, including one reference to a recent controversly involving Gervais’ tweets about trans women. He expressed his surprise that he was even asked back to host the awards, saying “Kevin Hart was fired for some offensive tweets, hello?!”
