The Dubai Airshow ended this weekend, and saw more than its fair share of deals.
Airbus overtook rival Boeing in the number of deals, although both brands saw many bookings for slimmer, wide-body jets. Airbus scored 220 plane orders during the week, dominated by Sharjah based Air Arabia, however Boeing came in with 95 orders for commercial jets.
Emirates made headlines over the weekend. Not only is it the biggest operator in the world of wide-body jets, but it also made more than US$25-billion worth of orders. Elsewhere, it made more than 50 orders for smaller, A350 planes, ahead of the demise of the A380 program.
