He’s performed for the likes of Prince Charles at Windsor Castle, Elton John at his White Tie and Tiara ball and at Robbie Scott’s Jazz Club in London and now he’s putting on a show for us right here in the UAE.
British actor Richard Shelton has dedicated his life to impersonating his hero, Rat Pack legend Frank Sinatra.
He has visited his home, owns his old tux and spends his life performing an award-winning tribute to Old Blue Eyes’ life, which he’s toured all over the world.
Now, following an Offie (Off West End Theatre Awards) nomination as Best Male Performance, a sold out critically acclaimed West End season and a sell-out run at the 2018 and 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, this one man theatre production is heading to Dubai’s Warehouse Four as part of the independent theatre’s Fringe@Four series.
“I’ve performed as Frank all over the world and it’s been a very interesting ride,” laughs Shelton. “I’ve literally performed in castles, clubs and ballrooms to rock stars and royalty and I can’t wait to bring the show to the desert.”
Sinatra: Raw received an unprecedented number of five star reviews at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It’s a powerful portrayal of a man who for so long was the undisputed ‘top dog’ and for whom now in his latter years, time has passed over. If you only go to one theatre show this year, make sure it’s this one!
