Anybody who missed out on the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch timepieces just got another shot at the action, with a new piece dropping to celebrate Swiss National Day.
A series of 11 models, each aimed at a different planet, they launched last year to feverish acclaim, priced at AED 1,200 they sold out fast. They even became the celebs watch of choice, with the likes of Daniel Craig (below), Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ed Sheeran spotted wearing them.
It’s kind of a weird one, too, as this felt like the collab nobody really thought they needed. If you’re rocking an Omega you’re unlikely to be wearing a Swatch, and if Swatch is your go-to you probably won’t pay north of AED 950 for one. But the fact is, these popped up on resale in double quick time, and you’ll be lucky if you even get one there.
The latest MoonSwatch keeps all the familiar stylings of the hyped Mission to Moonshine Gold watch, with the quartz movement, black velcro strap and a case made of Swatch’s signature Bioceramic material. It also has the familiar planet engraving and inspirational text on the back.
We suppose the one bonus we have here is that the MoonSwatch is not a limited edition and, as we saw last year with the original drop, the restocks do happen. As with moon gazing in general, patience is the key to celestial success.
