Bell & Ross has unveiled a new chronograph that takes its inspiration from the heritage books.
The new addition to the Vintage collection is called the BR V3-94 Black Steel, and it harks back to the 1940s when watches were key parts of a pilot’s arsenal. The new watch comes with a classic circular case, but has been given a size upgrade for better readability in the cockpit.
The case is made from stainless steel, and has a satin-polished finish. It also features a bio-directional rotating bezel, with a sixty-minute scale that can be used to measure short periods of time. Under the hood lies the Bell & Ross designed caliber BR-CAL 301 movement.
The watch is water resistant to 100-metres.
In keeping with the pilot concept, the dial has been made with increased legibility in mind. To better stand out against that black dial, numerals and indices have been coated in Super-LumiNova. Also, the curved sapphire crystal case has been coated with an anti-reflective coating.
“With an elegant touch of sophistication and classic shapes, the new BR V3-94 combines the past and present and illustrates the authenticity of the Vintage spirit,” the brand said via launch statement.
The watch is currently available on either a satin-polished steel bracelet, or on a black calfskin strap for a more casual look and feel. The steel watch will cost around US$4,600 while the leather version is US$4,300.
Both will be available in Bell & Ross boutiques and online over the next few months.
