Swiss watchmaker Urwerk has unveiled its latest novelty, the UR-220 (also known as Falcon Project).
Four months ago the watchmaker said goodbye to its UR-210 series with a ‘Last Edition’ model. The UR-220 is the spiritual successor, with design nods to the original.
The UR-220 includes the brand’s oil change indicator on the caseback. The watch makes use of carbon (the first time for the watch brand) in what Urwerk calls a ‘featherwight case’, which is built from 81 layers of ultra-thin CTP carbon.
The dial has the same satellite time-telling indication as the UR-210, where the hours are shown on three rotating cubes alongside minute pointers. The power reserve is displayed via up/down guages (which themselves are made from 83 parts).

The timepiece includes ‘radioactive green’ lume, meant to ape the graphics from sci-fi video games, and the watch comes on the brand’s first-ever rubber strap.
