“A watch for the endless, warm summer days”

  • Themed after magma itself, the watch uses carbon fibre and red marbled epoxy resin to achieve a seriously scorching look

  • The watch does not have a conventional dial, instead having a fully exposed and skeletonised face

  • The watch is said to be created in inspiration of a race car

The temperatures are on the rise in the UAE,so it’s handy then that Ulysse Nardin is chipping in with its hottest watch yet.

The ‘Skeleton X Magma’ is the latest watch from the marine-focused super luxe Swiss brand. It is described as “a watch for the endless, warm summer days”.

The 43mm watch is made using a combination of ultra-light carbon fibre and red, marbled epoxy resin to achieve the look of flowing magma.

The piece is said to be inspired by a race car, being “stripped down to its essential components like a high-end racecar, it is ultra-light, scratch-resistant and streamlined.”

The skeleton watch houses four indexes centred by a rectangle on the dial to create the ‘X’ in the name. It also features Roman numerals on each side for that extra luxurious feel.

With a four-day power reserve, this watch will not let you down, and it will not run out if you choose not to wear it for a while, though we’re not sure why you would want to do that.

“Accessibly priced, each Skeleton X Magma is fitted with the UN-371 movement, a 3 Hz Silicium balance wheel and Silicium minuterie gear train.  Red Roman numerals mark the three and nine o’clock positions and the index and hands are equipped with red Superluminova for nocturnal activity,” the brand says on its website.
