A Lange & Söhne is the current darling of the watch world. It continues to put out watches that aspire to be both beautiful and highly complicated, and SIHH 2019 was no different.
The brand celebrated two big anniversaries this year and did so with two spectacular new watches.
For starters, it’s been 25-years since Walter Lange and Günther Blümlein first re-invigorated the iconic German watch brand with the aptly-named Lange 1.

The new limited edition watch has a dial made of solid silver (thus commemorating its silver jubilee slightly). You also get an additional date function, with a corrector at the 8 o’clock position that triggers the date jumping mechanism. The entirely new movement also boasts a constant force escapement and slow-oscillating balance.

Elsewhere, it’s been ten years since Lange first pulled the wraps off the Zeitwerk Date – the brand’s very adult take on a digital display. It’s marked the decade by adding an additional instantaneous date display around the watch.
Rounding off a busy SIHH 2019, A Lange & Söhne also announced updates to the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds (a firm fan favourite) which is now available in white gold with a black dial, as well as providing its beloved Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon with a pink gold dial (note: it’s not salmon).
