Jaeger-LeCoultre is all about celebrating the art of precision at this year’s SIHH exhibition in Geneva.
The brand barely mentioned its regular ranges and instead unveiled the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grand Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpetual. A grand (and very long) name for a very grand watch, indeed.
To start, you get a spherical gyrotourbillon, a fifth multi-axis tourbillon as well a minute repeater, all somehow squeezed into a case that’s just 43-millimetres. And it isn’t your run-of-the-mill minute repeater, either.
As the ‘Westminster’ in the name might suggest, it has been programmed with four sets of hammers and gongs to play the Westminster Carillon, the familiar melody made famous by London’s Big Ben.
If that wasn’t enough for one watch, JLC also went ahead and stuck a perpetual calendar in there as well, including indications for the day, the date, the month and the year.
