It makes sense that in a world of watchmaking obsessed with the past, it would be Hublot to become the first to accept Bitcoin.
The watch company has partnerships in place with just about everyone, including fashion, motorsports, football, art, music and entertainment, and even travel resorts. Now it adds a digital currency to that long list of collabs, with the Big Bang Meca-10 P2P Limited Edition.

Celebrating the 10thanniversary of the creation of Bitcoin, Hublot has worked with Asia’s leading digital asset brokerage firm, OS Limited, to produce a 210-piece limited edition Big Bang Meca-10. Dedicated to the peer-to-peer payment system, also known as P2P, this new timepiece is available for purchase exclusively online and paid for with the cryptocurrency.
Finally, something tangible you can dip into your Bitcoin stash for.

Why is it limited only to 210 pieces though? Because it is a reference to the global limit of Bitcoins, fixed at 21 million. Stylistically, the Big Bang Meca-10 P2P Limited Edition remains technically progressive, evoking elements of the digital world even though it is completely mechanical. Its 45mm case comes in microblasted high-tech black ceramic (zirconium dioxide) which is highly scratch resistant.
