Crazy colours are this year’s most spectacular timepiece trend

Rolex’s Daytona is not only one of the most iconic watches, it’s also among the most collectable.

The mystique of the classic chronograph continues in the Cosmograph ‘Rainbow’. With multicoloured sapphires on the bezel and dial and diamonds (56!) set into the 18k Everose gold case, somehow, it’s still masculine.

The bejewelled ‘Rainbow’ is the most spectacular billboard creation within the big 2018 watch trend for bold, unorthodox colours which so far has seen Montblanc, Glashütte Original and Rado all produce green-hued timepieces.

Richard Mille, Hublot and Audemars Piguet also step up their already eye-catching games with block shades of red, blue and camouflage respectively. Even brands known for restraint are joining in, with Omega creating a denim-strapped, and denim-coloured edition of the Railmaster, while Patek Philippe has horophiles salivating over its vibrant orange-hued Aquanaut.
