Swiss watchmaker Montblanc has released a limited-edition piece from its TimeWalker collection inspired by the career of, Chinese professional badminton player Lin Dan.
The design itself pays respect to Lin Dan’s career, with the prominent red circle blazoned on the watch’s sexy black matte finish echoing the colour of the Chinese national flag and fine details such as the engraving of five stars at eight o’clock signifying his five most important championship wins. A prominent Arabic 12 dominates an otherwise minimalist face as the absence of a traditional dial focusses attention on the watch’s delicate movement and its handcrafted skeletonised components that hark back to Montblanc’s 158-year-old heritage.
Equipped with the new Montblanc manually-wound Calibre MB M62.48 and consecrated with a movement inspired by Pythagoras’s Golden Ratio, the Montblanc TimeWalker Pythagore Ultra-Light can track all the hours, minutes, and small seconds of the day along with a 50-hour power reserve that guarantees the utmost consistency.
