In the watch world, it’s rare to see a timepiece that genuinely makes you do a double-take. Yet, Blancpain and Swatch have pulled it off once again, with their new Scuba Fifty Fathoms Ocean of Storms collab.

The Blancpain x Swatch watch salutes the Okenia Luna nudibranch, a creature less known for luxury and more for… well, being a sea slug. Yet, it becomes a star on this watch’s rotor, injecting an offbeat twist to the lunar theme. Its design – a striking mix of black, white, and gold – is as startling as its inspiration.
Delving into specifics, the Ocean of Storms measures 42.3mm in diameter. It’s sheathed in black Bioceramic, a nod to its deep-sea and space inspiration. The dial features a dark shimmer, accented with luminous indices and the ever-debatable 4:30 date window.

At its core is Swatch’s SISTEM51 automatic movement, with a 90-hour power reserve and a no-service-needed build. Plus, it’s antimagnetic – always a benefit when it comes to dive watches.
As for its dive credentials, the Ocean of Storms boasts a 91-meter (or 50 fathom) resistance. It’s strapped with a recycled fishing net NATO band, marrying style with eco-awareness.
The Blancpain x Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Ocean of Storms will land in all good Swatch Boutiques around the UAE this month for AED 1,630 (US$400).
