Uh, I don’t know, because it’s awesome?
Famed Italian fashion house, Santoni, is no stranger to delivering the finest of footwear, but something about this latest collection really makes me want to put on a linen suit, or a leather biker jacket, and bolt down the Italian coastline. This latest collection, titled ‘Easy’, screams city boy bank trader as much as it does wedding ceremony in Tuscany – and isn’t that the combo we all strive to achieve in life?
But there’s more to this release than just sheer beauty.

There’s something about those orange soles that feels a bit playful, as if beneath the firm, shiny leather exterior is a softer side, one that is begging to let loose, to cut some shapes on a yachted dance floor. A side that asks for the Martini stirred, not shaken, because it dares to go against the grain.
Crafted in either calfskin leather or calfskin suede, the shoes are renowned for their innovation, weighing much less than a classically constructed style. The leather Oxford shoe, for example, weighs only 295g. And while darting through the city on foot, one can’t help but be envious of every man privileged enough to don a pair.

Handcrafted leather with a concealed elastic system provides superior fit, comfort and ease, giving the wearer the freedom to feel as if the shoe can be worn without fastening or unfastening laces. A futuristic fashion statement if I’ve ever heard one.
