Yep, Rihanna was wearing the Maison Margiela MM6 x Salomon Cross Low, a collaboration between the French fashion house Maison Margiela and the French sportswear brand Salomon.
It’s been years in the making, but it seems Salomons are ready to become a mainstream sensation, with Rihanna’s endorsement a big boost to the brand.
What is Salomon?
Salomon was founded by Georges Salmon in 1947 and currently a part of the Finnish sports retailer Amer Sports, which is owned by China’s Anta. But, hey, we’re still calling them French, because globalization is confusing.
Salomon in particular makes trail shoes and sneakers, which have in recent years increasingly become a fashion piece, with the XT4 and XT6 silhouettes particularly finding the feet of the fashionable. Last year’s re-invented ACS Advanced also turned a lot of heads, including ours.
How to get Rihanna’s Maison Margiela MM6 x Salomon Cross Low
The Maison Margiela x Salomon was originally released last fall, and is in fact still available in some colorways in the Middle East, in both high and low formats.
