If you have internet access, you’ve undoubtedly seen the gnarliest natural disaster in American history blazing through Los Angeles. But having been there myself in the midst of it, one sliver of solace, if not communal pride, was that every single 7/11, supermarket, car radio, you name it, was blasting the Red Hot Chili Peppers on repeat, specifically the songs about California (which is like 99.9% of them).

No band in history personifies Los Angeles more than them, and in the midst of the chaos, founding member and arguably the best bass player of all time, Flea, found himself as the new face of Levi’s x Undercover, grinning on a sun-soaked beach, flashing his metallic grin and colour-of-the-week hairdo (in this case, blue).

This latest collection is a homage to Undercover’s 1998 Fall/Winter collection, “Exchange,” – which was a personal favourite by current Dior head honcho, Kim Jones – but the base has now shifted to Levi’s denim rather than Japanese denim.

Updating classic staples for the last collection, such as the iconic Levi’s trucker jacket, which now boasts detachable zippers, and the classic 501s that are now soaked in raw, Undercover edge makes this a collection for the books.

And for any die-hard Chili Peppers fans out there, the entire Flea-heavy lookbook was photographed by his daughter, Clara, to whom accompanying guitarist, John Frusciante, dedicated his first solo album, Niandra Lades and Usually just a T-Shirt.

Anyway, here’s a clip of Flea shredding in the mountains with yellow hair in an orange jumpsuit because why not?
