Jake Gyllenhaal has taken a break from bar-fighting Conor McGregor in the Florida keys, and has lent his cinematic facial features to Prada’s latest eyewear campaign: In The Midst of The Action.
Shot by legendary photographer Lukas Korschan at the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli base in Cagliari, the images document the legendary actor and the Luna Rossa Prada Pirella team while preparing for the sailing race.
“I had the best time being part of this campaign in Cagliari and joining the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team,” said Gyllenhaal. “I loved experiencing the base in real life, ahead of the America’s Cup competition. Collaborating with Prada is always unique, and this collection perfectly reflects my own style.”
The aerodynamic wraparound design is as functional as it is aesthetic, and should you ever find yourself in a sailboat competition, or simply blitzing down the road in a convertible, you won’t get much better than this.
2024 marks the 10 year anniversary of (arguably) Gyllenhaal’s greatest performance, Nightcrawler, so in lieu of this magnificent campaign, if you need to brush up on your Gyllenhaalian cinema history, do yourself a favour and watch that film. Prisoners (2013) is a close second, and features Wolverine in (arguably) his best role.
