Steven Soderbergh, arguably the most prolific man in Hollywood, has returned with yet another spy thriller in the shape of Black Bag, starring Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett and Pierce Brosnan. However, one could argue that the real star of the film is none other than luxury British fashion house, dunhill, which created an exclusive wardrobe for the film.

Never before have I felt such a burning desire to answer a random payphone and say, “Mission accomplished.”

The exquisite, tailor made pieces specifically designed for lead actors Michael Fassbender, Tom Burke, Regé-Jean Page and Pierce Brosnan will make you really envious over the fact that these guys get paid to wear these clothes.

Dunhill has been shaping the silhouette on the silver screen for several decades, having clothed some of cinema’s most iconic figures. This latest collection is a noteworthy homage to the English spy thriller and the golden age of Hollywood glamour – Casino Royale meets The Big Sleep.

Steven Soderbergh’s previous spy genre films have not been nearly as intentionally smart and stylish – Logan Lucky comes to mind although, coincidentally, it does star Daniel Craig – and after last year’s low budget horror film, The Presence, it’s exciting to see the director go back to his roots.

Black Bag releases in theatres on March 14, 2025.
