A$AP Rocky is annoyingly cool. At his age he’s managed to become a music legend, fashion renegade, actor, creative wizard, he shares a child with Rihanna, and now he just dropped one of the edgiest collaborations in a long time. The A$AP Rocky X Puma motorsport collection is equal parts Formula 1 as it is hallucinogenic music video, paying homage to the cinematic, and often frightening, style for which Rocky’s videos have become notorious.
Rocky’s intention to shift how brand’s approach taking risk through design is evident in this drop, releasing items like a racing sweatsuit, a seatbelt t-shirt, a knitted balaclava, XL gloves, and many more items, all designed by Rocky himself.
“This Miami collection aims to give fans the chance to have their own race suit from the helmet down to the shoes,“ Rocky said. “Other sports have uniforms available for the consumer and I wanted to bring that to the F1 category. For the visuals, I wanted to demonstrate how as adults we can lose sight of the dreams and imagination that we had as kids, and really love how it all came together.“
As we’re less than two weeks removed from the iconic F1 Monaco race, taking place on May 26, we wouldn’t be surprised to see some enthusiastic spectators rocking this new collection. We knew we would.
