Two iconic YSL designs have been reimagined as fragrances

Yves Saint Laurent Beauty has just created two fragrances inspired by iconic fashion pieces by the French couturier.

The two scents – capelines and jumpsuits – were modelled after the YSL creation that became fashion icons.

Yves Saint Laurent was known for breaking down fashion barriers; in this case, it was appropriating pieces directly from the male wardrobe.

In the 1960s, the capelines hat was used as an accessory to block out the sun. Today, these broad-brimmed hats provided the inspiration for its fragrance, but together by Juliette Karagueuzoglou. It’s based around lily and vanilla scents, along with notes of mandarin and bergamot.

Master perfumer Carlon Benaiim was tasked with reimagining Jumpsuit, which was initially worn with motor racing and parachute jumping in mind.

The new scent is a heady mix of magnolia and bergamot, with bitter orange seen and a heart of magnolia.

Both scents are available right now and join the Vestiaire des Parfums range – which already includes the likes of Tuxedo, Saharienne, Caban, Caftan, Trench, Blouse, and Grain de Poudre fragrances.
