Representatives of the companies that signed the Fashion Pact met for the first time yesterday in Paris to define the organizational arrangements for the coalition.
In the context of the G7 Summit held in Biarritz, 32 companies in the fashion and textile industry made a pledge to work towards shared and concrete goals in three areas: Climate, Biodiversity and Oceans. The Fashion Pact was presented by Kering Chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault to the Heads of State who met at the summit in Biarritz on August 26, 2019.

Today, a further 24 companies in the fashion and textile industry, all of them already involved in a separate environmental strategy, have announced that they are joining the coalition. This brings the total number of signatories to 56 and the number of brands involved to around 250.

Discussions at the working meeting focused on the governance of the Fashion Pact, the organization of the work to be carried out by its members as well as the translation of their commitments into practical goals. A decision was made to share an initial report on the progress achieved in September 2020.
After the meeting, France’s Deputy Minister of Ecological and Solidary Transition, Brune Poirson, joined the participants to congratulate the signatory companies for their work and for following up on the commitments they made.A total of 56 companies form part of the Fashion Pact, which aims to minimise the environmental impact of the textile and fashion industry by focusing on three key areas: climate, biodiversity and oceans.
MANGO is moving forward with its commitment towards sustainability and has signed up to the Fashion Pact, a global coalition which aims to promote the environmental sustainability of the textile and fashion sectors. The company is one of the 24 signatories that signed up to this global pact on Thursday, which a total of 56 companies and 250 brands now form a part of.
Signing up to this pact is part of MANGO’s commitment to make environmental sustainability one of its core strategies. In this regard, the company carries out all its daily activities adopting environment-friendly and sustainable development criteria in all areas of its business.
“The Fashion Pact will set out the actions to be carried out in the coming years through the agreements entered into, which will allow us to move forward collectively in favour of sustainability and to the benefit of the entire industry”, explains Beatriz Bayo, MANGO’s CSR Director.
The global pact commits all its signatories to work collectively to minimise the environmental impact of the textile and fashion industry by focusing on three key areas: fighting against climate change, preserving biodiversity and protect the oceans.
