The Moon Star shoes are made up of 30 carats of diamonds and pieces of meteorite

The world’s most expensive shoe has been unveiled in Dubai.

The shoe – which was unveiled on a yacht in Dubai Marina – is worth US$20 million (AED73-million) and features 30 carats worth of diamonds and pieces of meteorite, hence its official name ‘Moon Star Shoes’.

The shoes were unveiled as part of Made in Italy, Designed in Emirates (MIDE) Fashion Week. They were designed by Antonio Vietri.

The Moon Star Shoes are made with a solid gold heel. The 30-carats worth of diamond can be seen on decorative parts of the shoe, while diamonds feature on the clasps and buckle. Each piece of the meteorite was chipped away from one found in Argentina back in 1576.

The previous Guinness World Record holder for the most expensive pair of shoes are worth just US$15.5 million.

Vietri is no stranger to releasing very expensive shoes in Dubai. In 2017, he revealed a 24-carat gold stilettos in Dubai worth more than AED120,000. According to the designer, “The word impossible does not exist in my vocabulary”.
