Vans is back with yet another pop-culture collaboration, this time reimaging the The Nightmare Before Christmas film into shoe-form.
It’s 2019, likelihood is if you think of any pop culture symbol, brand or title, chances are is that some footwear brand out there has engulfed it into a collaborative project. Vans is no exception, from Harry Potter, to The Simpsons, to NASA, and now The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Nightmare Before Christmas, the gothy 1993 animated Christmas musical, was a film that turned the festive genre on its head, featuring spooky characters, a dark art-style and a Halloween setting.
Vans’ collaboration, releasing early in October, features a host of different shoes in a variety of shoe styles. From Slip-Ons, to chunkier Eras and Old Skools, to the Authentics and the Sk8-Hi styles, the collaboration has a style out there for any Vans-collector.
The shoes take inspiration from the movie’s fan-favourite characters including Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogi Boogie and ghost dog, Zero. Each shoe style has artwork dedicated to the character it draws inspiration from. Naturally, Skellington shoes are mostly black and white, with Sally shoes having a funky patchwork design.

Beyond the shoes, the streetwear giant has also bolstered its clothing collection with some Christmas x Halloween pieces. The range includes socks, baseball caps, jackets, T-shirts and backpacks.

You can sign up at Vans to be notified exactly when the collections drop, expected on October 4. Accurate pricing for all pieces is not yet released but the shows are reported to range from US $70 – US $85.
