Andrea Incontri will no longer look after the creative direction of Tod’s.
The designer took to Instagram to confirm the news, that he would be leaving the Italian label effective the end of June, 2019.
Tod’s has confirmed the news, with Diageo Della Valle, Group Chairman and CEO, saying “I’d like to thank Andrea for the contribution given to Tod’s Men’s Collections over the years”.
According to Incontri, his time at Tod’s was a learning experience. “It’s been an honour for me to be part of this great family. Tod’s has been a school and an important experience in my development. I thank Diego and Andrew Della Valle for the support and enthusiasm they’ve always given me”.
The shoes and leather goods company known for its Gommino loafers has struggled of late, with reports that its first quarter of 2019 featured a 4.3-per cent fall in revenue. That said, while market conditions certainly effected the Italian brand – retail sales improved almost ten percent over the same period.
Growth in retail sales has been a key factor over the last couple of years, leading Incontri to produce more frequent collections and collaborations.
As of right now, there is no news on who will be replacing Incontri. Or if the creative director is moving to another fashion house.
