Aside from the jarring verbal barbs that Conor McGregor delivered to Floyd Mayweather in the build up to their eventual fight, most of the hype surroduning the ‘Money Fight’ tended to revolve around what McGregor was wearing. Often strutting around with all the bravado of a human-sized peacock, McGregor’s unique fashion choices were created by his tailor, David August Heil, of clothing company David August.
McGregor wore a variety of David August outfits throughout the press events before the fight, with the one you’ll most likely remember involving a fairly explicit pinstripe effect.
With this suit having almost made as many headlines as the match itself, McGregor and his talented tailor have announced that they are going to be working together on August McGregor, a brand new menswear label inspired by McGregor’s eclectic sense of dress. This news also comes off the back of Floyd Mayweather getting his own dedicated line with German designer, Philipp Plein.
The brand – which will consist of suits, sportswear, and accessories – is McGregor’s first foray into the fashion indutry as well as the first ready-to-wear collection by David August. With prices for suits ranging from Dhs1,800 to Dhs4,400, fans of McGregor will be able to purchase items from this line starting from January 2018 on the August McGregor website. Just make sure you’ve got the confidence to back up this fairly bold look.
