There are two distinct species of men who leave the house in pyjamas. First, there is the man who has effectively resigned from society; and then there is the man who strides down the street like he owns it. The Dolce&Gabbana SS26 collection is very much aimed at the latter.
Combining that level of confidence with its inert understanding of ‘sprezzatura’, the Italian luxury house has taken this season to give the beloved pyjama its time in
the daylight.

While the rest of the world is still cottoning on to the joys of a flexible waistband, Dolce&Gabbana has been refining sleepwear as a style statement since the nineties. The DNA is still there—classic Italian sets in lightweight cotton jacquard and clean stripes—but the execution for the Dolce&Gabbana SS26 collection feels decidedly more Taormina than teddy bear.

The collection thrives on a deliberate sense of weightlessness, defined by pleated trousers with wide hems that catch the breeze, oversized shirts that double as light jackets, and fuzz-lined outerwear or sleeveless vests for those transitional mornings. The palette remains anchored in the essentials—beige, cream, navy, and tobacco— but this is still D&G, after all. The house’s signature polka dots and leopard prints make their obligatory (and welcome) appearances, scaled up or down to ensure the look stays intentional rather than accidental.

To bridge the gap between dreaming and doing, the brand layered these silk-soft foundations with 1980s-inspired leather and plush cardigans, giving the pyjama a structural backbone sharp enough for a midday meeting. When the sun goes down, the stripes get the sparkle treatment—with hand-embroidered stones and crystals that elevate the pyjama to a piece worthy of a gala. It’s a bold move, backed by a flurry of accessories including cameo brooches, collar pins, and rosaries layered with colourful stones.
The luggage followed suit, ranging from oversized Sicily bags to shoulder-strap beauty cases—essentially everything a man needs for a weekend where he never intends to change his clothes. On the feet, the message was loud and clear: comfort is king. Between terry cloth sandals, sneakers, and fuzzy slides, the hard-soled dress shoe was nowhere to be found. If the SS26 runways are any indication, the upcoming season will be defined by a refusal to be uncomfortable.

The Dolce&Gabbana SS26 collection is a pyjama party, and for once, everyone is actually invited.
