Rivoli Eyezone wants to help you look like James Dean

James Dean certainly knew how to pull off a pair of sunglasses. And while sunglasses are a year-round wardrobe staple here in the sunny UAE, sadly, we don’t always look as cool as the iconic actor, right gents?

Well, it just so happens that Rivoli Eyezone stores now have specially trained eye-wear stylists in each store ready to help you select the right style for your specific face shape. While you may have been clinging on to your fave aviators for years, have you ever considered that they might just not be the best shape for your face shape? Rivoli has just received the newest collections of designer eyewear for the SS16 season, and their eye-wear stylists will tell you that specific shapes and styles enhance the features of each face shape. Here’s a little run through of what suits who:

Most faces fall into one of five shape categories:

– Heart/triangle
– Square/rectangle
– Round
– Oval
– Diamond

Heart/triangle shaped faces are recognised by their broad forehead, wide cheek bone, and narrow chin and soft jaw line. The best frames for this face shape are cat-eye, butterfly shapes or even rimless, like these Tom Ford’s…

Square/rectangle shaped faces are characterised by their wide cheek bones, angular jaw line, square forehead. The best frames for this face shape are round, oval, cat-eye shapes and aviator styles like these Zegna frames…

Diamond shaped faces are recognized by their broad forehead, wide cheek bone, and narrow chin and soft jaw line. The best frames for this face shape are oval and square, live these from Dsquared2…

Round shaped faces are recognized by their soft, gentle and circular shape. The width and length are the same with little or no angles. The best frames for this face shape are angular frames with a geometric shapes or rectangle shapes like these from Mont Blanc.

Oval shaped faces tend to have balanced proportions and a gently curved jawline. The chin is generally narrower than the forehead and cheekbones are typically high. The most versatile of face shapes, most frame shapes work on oval faces as long as they are in proportion to the size of the face. We love these rectangle shades from Zegna.
