Well it’s official. October is now officially the ‘silly season’. Or shall we call it ‘Croc-tober’? A cringy portmanteau has been christened by the notoriously polarising foam clog manufacturer to ‘celebrate’ the launch of the Cowboy Crocs Boot.
Once the epitome of rugged masculinity, the cowboy was a symbol of untamable freedom. Of a life of hard times and simple pleasures. Over the years the humble cowboy has been claimed as a symbol for denim, cigarettes, and tough trucks. But now, as so much of our home lives are spent two-screening in our sweatpants, and shuffling between couch and sofa – fashion is continues to evolve to our needs.
It’s true, high fashion has been co-opting the goofy-looking, cumbersome shoe for a good long while now. Since 2016, in fact.
First came Christopher Kane. Then Balenciaga’s ‘chunky boi’ version in 2017, and so on. Crocs then went hard at the lucrative collabs game, working with Post Malone, Takashi Murakami, Luke Combs, and Ruby Rose – all who designed limited-release Crocs drops.
Lest not forget the time when Kentucky Fried Chicken and Crocs teamed up for its much-grammed “deep, fried, fashion” collaboration.
Let’s be honest, young, hip hypebeasts have been gobbling up the breadcrumbs that the people at Crocs have been feeding them for nearly a decade now whether they like it or not. But now this.
The famed foam clog company ‘went there’ unveiling a previously unimaginable brand extension – Croc cowboy boots featuring spurs and a shiny, croc-embossed texture.

“For years, the buzz around a Crocs-inspired cowboy boot has been building, creating a genuine fan-fueled movement trending across social media. Recognizing this passion, Crocs is making fan dreams come true, turning the Crocs Classic Cowboy Boot into a reality,” the company said in a release.
The Cowboy Crocs boot will be available online and for a limited time in Crocs stores.
