The 2021 Travis Scott x Fragment Jordan 1, perhaps the most anticipated sneaker of 2021, is nearly here.
In fact, both the High and Low editions of the show, both in a Sail/Blue/Black colourway, are coming to us sooner than expected.
The High is scheduled for release on July 29, with the Low coming on August 13, according to reports. Both shoes are expected to release the same days in the UAE.
Rumours have their being more Lows being produced than Highs, giving eager fans a greater chance at hitting on the Lows, though both will be in extremely limited supply.
Pictures of the shoes have been leaking for months. The shoe is a double collaboration, with Fragment’s Hiroshi Fujiwara bringing his blend of black white and blue that appeared on his last AJ1 with Travis Scott bringing his now trademark backwards swoosh, as well as a stash pocket and vintage-style midsole.
On the heel of the shoe are both the Cactus Jack and Fragment symbols, with the tongue also brandishing the Cactus Jack insignia.
The collaboration is coming at what seems to be an all-time high for the Air Jordan 1, which has seen a huge boost in popularity since the Michael Jordan documentary The Last Dance reignited interest in the silhouette.
Both Fragment and Travis Scott have released some of the most popular Air Jordan 1s of the last decade, with the Fragment AJ1, released in 2014, selling for around $4,000 on the resale market, and Travis’ earth-shattering earth-toned AJ1 releasing back in 2019 selling for around $2,000 in 2021.
Travis has already released numerous shoes this year, with his Air Jordan 6 proving especially popular. Fragment has been rereleasing mass-market versions of his popular Nike Dunk City Pack this year, with the Beijing colourway recently selling out instantly.
Fragment, the imprint of designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, has been at the heart of some of the most popular collaborations of the last decade, including brands as wide-ranging as Dr. Martens, BVLGARI, Beats by Dre and Pokemon.
Travis Scott, in addition for becoming the king-maker of the shoe world, is of course, one of the world’s most popular music artists.
