The brand’s parent company, Mayhoola, has joined other high-ranking fashion conglomerates

If there’s one thing that the fashion industry has really proved amongst the uncertainty and turmoil, it’s their community spirit. The parent company of Valentino and Balmain, Mayhoola, joins Italy in the effort to fight again Coronavirus by offering an emergency donation of 2 million euros.

The sizeable donation has been split between two causes, and will go towards both the Intensive Care Unit at Sacco Hospital in Milan as well as Protezione Civile Italiana in order to help support ‘the extraordinary effort that they are putting forward to all the Italian regions’.

While fashion industry can be criticised for many things, its support shown in these troubling times cannot be counted as one of them, with fashion house’s globally contributing heavily in in both monetary and other alternative support, such as offering up their factories to meet the surplus demand of facemasks and hand sanitizer.

While we hope and pray that this all blows over sooner rather than later, we also believe that the moral both physically and mentally donations like this have given will be a mindset and initiative of global good-will that we take through these dark times and beyond.
