We all look for ways to make our lives easier. Food delivery, maid services and now, personal stylist. At Esquire we live and breathe menswear, but the sheer pace of the industry makes it a challenge for others to keep up. That is why we applaud the opening of the men’s personal shopping department at Harvey Nichols — Dubai.
Headed up by Feda Ghanem, Vice President of Merchandising, the department store’s roster of new and exclusive brands now comes with a dedicated area (and stylists) to help you navigate the trends. “Men tend to have a strong idea of what they are looking for,” says Ghanem, “so what we prefer to do is help enhance people’s individual style by suggesting things they may not have considered.”

Based on his experience, Ghanem believes that balance of offering guidance to a customer is a delicate one. “Although most guys browse through the collections themselves, that can be challenging due to the size of our offer,” he explains.

“Personal shopping enables the customer to receive a personalised edit of looks in a setting built to make them feel comfortable.” For Ghanem a wardrobe shouldn’t be tedious or repetitive. “Subtle checks, stripes and hopsack textures help bring garments to life,” he says. “When darker shades and a mixture of textures are accessorised with accented colours, it creates lively looks that are perfect for Dubai.”
