Fred Perry x Miles Kane collaboration turns your favourite shirt into loungewear

What you need to know is that classic styles are bang on trend at the moment. And a great example of that is the iconic Fred Perry  polo, this time put through the lens of the ’70s.

You get the traditional ’70s fit (intentionally baggier – more loungewear than tight-fit), a bigger collar, a longer button placket, and a gold 30-leaf Laurel Wreath logo (the last one, a fantastic rendition of the emblem, is applied throughout the collection).

Another version of the shirt keeps today’s close-to-the-body fit, but adds a pointelle design or small eyelets running vertically in lines for a nice and quiet detail.

But what we’re really looking forward to are the bowling shirts with their boxy fit and open collar. In solid black or white, these are elegant interpretations of summer’s hottest shirt. The track jacket that Kane fashions with a bomber neck and raglan sleeves (we would wear this without the matching pants) is a highlight, as well.

But who is Miles Kane, you ask? Obviously, he’s a man known for style. The British singer of the Last Shadow Puppets has a penchant for “luxe fabrics and exaggerated styling,” and has been fan of Fred Perry fan since he was a kid.

In other words, he’s perfect for Fred Perry, who, by the way, has been worn by musicians for decades. Don’t take our word for it, listen to Kane’s playlist and see (hear!) for yourself.

Anyway, back to the clothes. It’s really the little tweaks and details that make these great. Even a T-shirt is made special because of its textured finish and a higher crew neck, two simple things that add the right amount of different to everyday pieces.
