After a torrid seven-month stint as manager of English side Plymouth Argyle, former England captain Wayne Rooney has taken to the glorious shores of Dubai for his next role – as a brand ambassador for Football Escapes.
The Manchester United legend’s new role will see him teach footballing to the kids of the well-to-do in his newly minted role running ‘Train With Wayne’ sessions.
Taking place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel between February 17 and 21, Rooney’s sessions offer an opportunity for young players to glean insights from his experience—perhaps unearthing the next Rooney along the way.
Learning from the England great, as you might expect, doesn’t come cheap however. Organised as one of Football Escapes’ ‘ultimate family holiday & football experiences’, a week-long family package at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel costing around AED30,000, allowing for parents to unwind by the private beach while the little ones learn from one of the most recognized figures in football.
