Former Chelsea and AC Milan player – George Weah -is on the verge of becoming Liberia’s most influential man

We’ve heard of footballers becoming pundits, managers and even drug dealers. But this one’s a little bit different.

Footballer-turned-politician, George Weah, is a current senator and widely regarded as one of the game’s greatest. Being the only African to win the Balon d’or, ever; cemented his name as the continent’s greatest of all time.

A two-time Serie-A winner with AC Milan, FA cup winner with Chelsea, and winner of more trophies with French giants Paris Saint Germain and AS Monaco; Weah has now found a different field to score on, the sport of Politics.

At the moment, George Weah is on the verge of becoming Liberia’s new president, to replace Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who has been the country’s president for the past 11 years.

This is no easy task, as war-torn Liberia has been a victim of famine and diseases for a very long time; but the influential man seems to be up for the task.
After failing to win presidency back in 2005, losing to current president Sirleaf, it’s just a matter of time until Weah is announced as president over current Vice President of the country; Joseph Boakai.

Multiple sources had already announced his victory hours before the official announcement and it seems like there is going to be one clear-cut winner.
