Having recently shocked the world by taking out reigning Middleweight kingpin, Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland, the gun-loving, foulmouthed American brawler, will defend his title for the first time against Dricus du Plessis, who is riding high on confidence after his recent stoppage of the most loved fighter in the UFC, Robert Whittaker.

Strickland has openly called himself ‘a brawler’, and that he believes this bout will be tougher than his fight against Adesanya because, like himself, “du Plessis comes to fight.”

Arguably the best defensive fighter in the UFC, Strickland has proven himself against the most elite strikers in the division that he does not get hit, but against a steamrolling bicep with legs like du Plessis, his defenses will be put to the absolute limit.

In the co-main event, Raquel Pennington battles Mayra Bueno Silva for the women’s bantamweight title as their is no current champion in the division.

This leaves only a few events left until the eagerly anticipated UFC 300, which recently announced a BMF Title fight between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway – guaranteed fireworks. Apart from that fight, however, the rest of the card is a bit of a dud, but one can only assume Dana White and co. will spice it up closer to the event.
