The Bear Grylls Survival Academy looks all set to expand its global network of outdoor adventure training to the wilderness of Saudi Arabia, it was announced today.

The Survival Academy, which teaches his extreme survival techniques at more than 20 locations around the world – including in the UAE – is planning on opening a new academy in The Kingdom across both The Red Sea and Amaala mega-projects.

Thanks to the partnership between Red Sea Global (RSG) and the world-famous adventure and survival brand, once opened, it promises to offer outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to learn key team building, wilderness education and survival skills on a variety of course options, all of which have been designed by Bear Grylls himself.

Bear Grylls is a former SAS soldier, one of the youngest climbers of Mount Everest, and a hugely successful presenter of extreme adventure shows. He is also a bestselling author, BAFTA winner, and an honorary colonel of the Royal Marine Commandos.

The academy will offer courses for individuals of all ages and fitness levels, including team-building activities for corporates. The academy will be run by professionals trained by the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

In the announcement statement, Red Sea Global reaffirmed its commitment to recruiting and training local outdoor enthusiasts in the art of survival and expedition leadership, creating hundreds of jobs for Saudis in a new industry for the Kingdom. This group of local adventurers could end up working in Bear Grylls Survival Academies around the Kingdom, leading courses themselves and creating a new generation of survivalists and adventure-seekers.
