The sports world has been rocked for the second time in two years today as Tom Brady once again announced his retirement, this time on Twitter.
“I’ll cut right to the chase,” Brady said in the Twitter video. “I’m retiring for good.”
“I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d press record and let you guys know first. I won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year,” the legendary quarterback continues.
“I really thank you guys so much. Every single one of you, for supporting me. My family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors. I could go on forever. There’s too many. Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream.”
“I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you all,” Brady said with tears in his eyes.
Within seconds of the speech being posted, the internet was quick to speculate that Gisele Bündchen, his now ex-wife, is the reason for his retirement, after the two very-publicly split after he went back on his last retirement, returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a final season that ended in the Wild Card round against the Dallas Cowboys in recent weeks.

So, is that the reason? It would make sense, putting the pieces together.
After all, just hours ago, Page Six reported that Gisele will likely be breaking the silence on the divorce between him and Brady in the pages of Vanity Fair, likely appearing on the April cover and discussing the situation.
““I could see this as a cover to celebrate Earth Month in April, as that’s a subject close to Gisele’s heart. But it could also be a summer cover,” a source told Page Six.
“I think this makes sense for Gisele. She’s come out of the divorce looking independent and smart.”
Some have speculated that Brady is making a play to fix their relationship between now and the article being written, hopefully going for a different angle.
If that is true, then this retirement truly is about getting Gisele back, one can speculate. Time will tell if he succeeds, or he’s even focused on that to begin with. For now, it’s all just gossip.
