Ahead of the Euro 2020 kickoff this Friday, we rate all 48 kits

Six groups, 24 teams and 48 team kits of all kinds of colours. Let’s compare the home and away kits of every team in this year’s Euro.

Turkey

The star and crescent in front of the bold red stripe are clearly the focal points of this kit and they stand out more on the home kit than the away kit.

Italy

The Italians have always known how to dress and their football kits are another example of that. The away kit wins this round because the intricate pattern is more prominent on the classy white shirt.

Wales

The Dragons look better in their striking red home kit that features subtle strip desings that accent the sleeves and shoulders. The away kit looks a bit too Aussie coloured for our taste.

Switzerland

The Away kit doesn’t just have random stripes. They each represent one of the four language spoken in Switzerland, French, Italian, German and Rhaeto-Romanic.

Denmark

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

The home kit is more striking overall when compared to the way kit. The chevrons on the shoulder stand out more and it also features a soundwave pattern on the body which was generated by fans singing the Danish national anthem. Now that’s creativity.

Finland

The off-centred cross combined the subtle hint of a blue surge at the bottom just adds that extra punch that the kit needs. The away kit feels as if somethings missing.

Belgium

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

The letter “B’ creatively uses the colours of the Belgian flag to finish the letter while the black and yellow accents around the sleeves and collar help complete the look. The stripe looks like it was done by a paintbrush and the pattern itself resembles an artistic woodgrain pattern. The away kit looks like it’s covered in sweat patches.

Russia

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Away Kit

Sadly the Russian home kit also features the same faux sweat patches that the Belgian away kit does but at least the away kit replaces that for some nice blue and red horizontal stripes,

Netherlands

The bright orange combined with a black collar and side stripe just looks great. The subtle lion pattern that covers the shirt gives it a fiery feel and also complements the Lion crescent logo.

Ukraine

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Away Kit

Ukraine continues their partnership with Spanish sportswear manufacturer Joma to craft their official kits. While we prefer the Yellow base colour combined with blue accents, unfortunately the shirt pattern which looks like a combination of fireworks and diamonds is more visible on the away suit. If the home kit changed the colour of the pattern to blue to make it stand out more, it would’ve won this round.

Austria

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Away Kit

The black and teal design is a unique colour scheme and the intricate feather pattern adds an elegant touch to the kit which helps it stand out on the pitch.

North Macedonia

Home Kit

Away Kit

Debuting a new kit for their first ever Euro tournament, we have to say that the white shirt with a gold trim gives us a very regal vibe. The Balkan lynx design not only adds to the look but also is said to boost conservation efforts towards the endangered animal according to Jako.

England

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

England continue to sport their dominantly white colour scheme that is symbolic of classic football. The broken vertical blue stripe with a hint of red literally breaks the trend of having simple straight stripes while the 3 lions crest front and centre makes it more of a superhero-esque symbol.

Croatia

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

The country’s home kit is inspired by their classic red and white checkers theme which represents their heritage while the back of the jersey is a solid white just to add a new spin the look.

Scotland

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

The Scots blue home kit features a series of horizontal stripes with jagged edges while the red and white stripes add a pop of colour. The away kit looks like it’s had a laundry malfunction with its colouration and diagonal crease lines.

Czech Republic

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Away Kit

Even though the home kit features the Lipa tree design, we prefer the choice of lime green as it’s a unique choice that pairs well with the black trim of the kit. The depature from the classic red look is also symbolic of the fact that the Czech team has gone through a generational change in the past few years.

Spain

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

Donning their signature red and a yellow stripes along their shoulders, the Spaniards will kick off in style. There’s also an interesting grid or graph design in the shirt. Their iconic crest is definitely the highlight of the look. The away kit looks like they ran out of colour when attempting to tie dye their shirts and the crest is missing the gold that makes it shine.

Sweden

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

Clearly paying homage to their flag, Sweden pairs a bright yellow with blue stripes on their shoulders and cuffs. The cut-off collar adds to the uniqueness of the kit with the Swedish flag while the words ‘Sverige’ are present on the crest as well as on the back of the shirt.

Poland

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

With a colour scheme that honours the ‘Golden Era’ of the Poland team in the 1970s and 1980s, this was the obvious winner. It also draws inspiration from the country’s flag with its dominant white with red trimmings theme.

Slovakia

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

It looks like a lot more effort went into designing this kit than the away kit. There’s a deep blue pattern which makes it look much more luxurious. It kind of looks like it’s made of silk but maybe that’s just us.

Hungary

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

Paying tribute to the country’s longest river, the Danube, it features a pattern of the river on the front of the red shirt along with white and green accents elsewhere.

Portugal

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Away Kit

Cristiano Ronaldo and company will be wearing this away kit which was inspired by the last Euros kit which then won. They may be wearing it for luck but we can’t help but enjoy the black and red stripes with a mint green centre stripe. It just adds add a refreshing touch to the kit.

France

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Home Kit

France’s new home kit features a horizontal stripe which is a clear nod to the team 1998 World Cup winning team along with their traditional navy blue colours. The all-white kit with a vertical blue and red stripe gives the French a nice clean straightforward look but we always love a good throwback like in the home kit.

Germany

Home Kit

Away Kit

The Winner: Away Kit

The sleek black tones on this shirt with a subtle lighter shade to decorate the shoulder stripes is a simple yet effective design. The country’s flag adorning the cuffs of the shirt help brighten up the shirt but we can’t help but wonder if they were added to help remind us which team this is.
